Will be brief. First night in Krabi Town away from the centre of town was ....hot !
Will still cycle into town from here and get used to the route although a bicycle in Krabi roads is not always a great mix . Basically the same as South Africa ;-)
Flat is on the second floor of a residence called "Castle Residence" and slightly off the beaten track and close to a canal with a nice pathway to decompress with a walk or slow run.
Super early this morning took a walk to the Thailand University of Sport which facilities were closed but their stadium was open and frequented by a number of locals with me being the only farang. Which was cool as you have to earn your respect and personally , I see how the westerners carry on and this might be the "Land of Smiles" but deep down I don't begrudge them not liking farangs in general if this is the case. So morning salutations and staying out of the way of other athletes is a good start :-)
Met a retired English teacher so it was nice to have a conversation on our stroll.
As always , you realize there is not material wealth in Thailand but you see a different wealth. The stadium is not new, equipment might be dated but nothing is broken or vandalized. Very refreshing !
Food at Tims Vegetarian / Vegan which, at approx R33 per plate of food is hectic (not) on the wallet !
